Carsten Knappe-Finger is a German business author, a graduate in business administration (Dipl.-Betriebswirt) and a Six Sigma Black Belt, with more than 35 years of experience in international industrial project business.
Throughout his career, he held commercial leadership positions in proposal management, project management and engineering, followed by senior responsibilities in global productivity management. His professional experience spans the commercial and operational challenges of complex industrial projects, with a particular focus on estimating, project economics, productivity and organisational effectiveness.
Drawing on more than three decades of industry experience, Knappe-Finger developed Intelligent Estimating Management (IKM), an integrated approach connecting cost estimating, risk management and project control. He also developed the POWER organisational framework, which brings together Purpose, Organisation, Wisdom, Execution and Responsibility to support effective organisational management.
Today, he focuses on writing and developing practical management concepts that translate professional experience into approaches that organisations can apply in practice. His books and professional articles address project management, cost estimating, controlling, leadership, collaboration, productivity and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in business.
His work centres on helping leaders and project professionals improve decision-making, strengthen organisational effectiveness and recognise potential deviations before they develop into significant financial losses.
Knappe-Finger is the author of several business books, including Power Management: Die Organisation der Zukunft, published in German. Through his writing, he seeks to preserve and advance proven management principles while exploring their relevance to the challenges facing organisations in an increasingly digital and AI-driven business environment.
